Pixium

Pixium has European approval for its bionic vision system, IRIS™, which is able to restore visual perception to blind people. In a clinical study the implant enabled completely blind patients to see light and simple patterns. The technology is suited to patients with degenerative diseases that result in blindness such as retinitis pigmentosa and age-related macular degeneration. The company went public in June 2014.
